Meet Marcus Rich, founder and operator of MRC Bookkeeping and Tax Services.
Marcus is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a strong commitment to using accounting as a tool for clarity, efficiency, and informed decision-making. His interest in finance began in his hometown of Belding, Michigan, where early exposure to local businesses and financial literacy courses in high school introduced him to the structure and purpose behind strong financial systems.
Marcus earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Accountancy from Davenport University. After graduating, he gained five years of professional accounting experience across tax, financial reporting, operational accounting, and business efficiency roles. During this time, he also expanded his knowledge by volunteering in nonprofit tax and finance, studying specialized areas such as real estate accounting, and purchasing his first rental properties.
With this foundation, Marcus transitioned into entrepreneurship and founded MRC Bookkeeping & Tax Services. The firm was established to provide small businesses and property owners with accurate bookkeeping, organized financial processes, and dependable tax support. MRC focuses on building efficient systems, improving client workflows, and delivering clear, reliable financial information that supports better business decisions powered by technology.
Now based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Marcus continues to develop professionally through business networking and ongoing education. Outside of his work, he enjoys spending time with his partner, Paige, his dog, Louie, and friends in the area, doing DIY home projects (most recently a home gym), and being part of a business book club.
